Gran Hotel La Florida

The Gran Hotel La Florida is located on the Vallvidrera road, one of the residential Barcelona's area. This 5-star hotel is the only luxury urban resort in the city and part of the collective city memory. La Florida hotel was opened in 1925 as the culmination of the great dream of Dr. Andreu who wanted to build the best Barcelona hotel. The hotel has been passed from hand to hand and in the'50s became the favorite summer residence of the upper middle class hotel in the Catalan and Barcelona Football Club. In its rooms you could see a historical, intellectual, and actors like Ernest Hemingway, James Stewart, George Sanders, Rock Hudson, the prince or princess Fabiola of Belgium. In 1979, Florida closed its doors to re-open in 2003. The project was clear that it wanted to recover as far as possible the original structural and decorative elements of the old hotel, respecting the natural environment.
The hotel decoration is perfectly linked to comfort, if it is the elegance and care of every detail, the internal harmony and splendid outdoor gardens, making this hotel a delight for all senses, including taste your restaurant L'Orangerie. Interior Design hotel designers were commissioned Dale Keller and his wife Patricia. The British artists Yannick Vu and Ben Jakober have three art works in Gran Hotel La Florida, representing three elements: earth "Granite Britain Division" light "Homage to Gaudi" and Water"Archimedes Source".
The hotel has 52 rooms and 22 suites. 8 suites have been specially designed by international artists like Rebecca Horn and Ben Jakober & Yannick Vu, and others by renowned interior designers and architects as Cristina Macaya, Hans Duettmann and Dale & Patricia Keller. Every room include satellite TV, ADSL Internet, pay movies and video games, telephone, radio, bathroom with Jacuzzi, hairdryer and bathrobe, safe, minibar, heating and air conditioning. Many rooms offer spectacular views of Barcelona and the sea. Some of them also have private jacuzzi on the terrace and gardens.
The Spa at the Gran Hotel La Florida has two floors with pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, caldarium, bath Biosphere, beauty cabins, gym. The services also include shops, hairdressers, breakfast, currency exchange, dry cleaning, safe, bicycle and car hire, parking, WiFi, laundry, babysitting service, playground, buffet, golf, and meeting rooms, congresses and conferences.
