Getting there. The apartments offer a complimentary shuttle bus service from the airport. Prepaid taxis to the city centre are available 24 hours a day in the Terminal One Arrivals hall and typically cost 40 AED. Limousine hire can be arranged in the arrivals hall. A bus service runs to the centre approximately. There are bus stations opposite terminals One and Two. Bus numbers 4, 11, 15, 33 and 44 run from Terminal One and Bus 2 from Terminal Two to the centre passing most of the major hotels, every 20 30 minutes. A single ticket is 2 AED. A reasonable public bus service operates throughout the city from 6 AM to 11 PM; buses run from Deira bus station near the Gold Souk, and Bur Dubai station on Al Ghubaiba Rd. Travellers should have the correct change to pay the driver and there are separate seating sections for men and women on board; women usually sit at the front of the bus. In the older parts of 'Dubai Abras' (small wooden motorboats) cross Dubai Creek. Air conditioned taxis are cheap, safe and efficient, and can be hailed on the street or pre booked by telephone.
